Phyllis
Chatlos reported that the CROP
WALK brought in $3,800.
Incarnation United Church of
Christ raised the most money
with $1,606 and
Trinity United Methodist Church
had the most walkers, a total of
seven. 25% of this money will
stay with the Emmitsburg Food
Bank which is now located
temporarily in the Elias
Lutheran Church.
Phyllis
also reported that the Religious
Coalition of Frederick County
has requested that pledges be
made for the first year's rent
in order to gain approval for
the Food Bank to move to the
Pregnancy Center location on
East Main Street. Phyllis asked
each church to donate $200 for
that purpose. The Religious
Coalition will fund the
necessary renovations to the
building so that it can house
the Food Bank, with a grant
request to recoup the cost.
The
Parish Nurse Task Force reports
that its application for
articles of incorporation has
been approved and that a grant
application has been submitted
to the Robert Woods Johnson so
that a Parish Nurse can be
hired. Frederick County Parish
nurses have been visiting the
churches during the month of
November to inform the
congregation about the work and
ministry of a parish nurse.
A
Candlelight Church Tour will
be held on Sunday, December 29,
beginning at 5:00 p.m. and all
community churches will
participate by opening their
churches for viewing and some
will offer a Christmas program.

The
Seton Center has offered to work
with the Council to disburse
funds to needy families of the
community. They will determine
the needs of the applicants and
use Council funds along with
other aid sources to assist
those people.
CASS has
asked that each church ask for
volunteers to assist in that
agency's work, mostly in the
form of providing transportation
to keep appointments. Seton
Center also has the same need.
