Outdoor Watering Penalty Schedule Policy

As of this date and pursuant to the Emmitsburg
Municipal Code, Title 13, Chapter 13.04.170 "Prohibited
acts generally," which states:
The watering of lawns, shrubs, flowers, gardens,
etc., via the public water system is prohibited on all
days and at all times between the hours of 9:00 AM and
6:00 PM. Anyone violating this section of the Code shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and may be subject to a fine
of up to $250.00 or both.
All water use violating the above will result in the
following fine schedule:
1. First offense will result in issue of a violation
warning stating subsequent fines.
2. Second offense will be punishable by a fine of
twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
3. Third offense, and every offense thereafter, will
be punishable by a fine of fifty dollars ($50.00)
Be it Further Resolved, Enacted and Ordained, that
this policy shall take effect on 4th day of
April, 2011.
