Tenth Annual Adams County Irish Festival

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - The Irish Heritage Foundation of Gettysburg will present the tenth annual Adams County Irish Festival on Saturday July 18, 2009. The event will run from10 am until 7:30 pm and will feature all things Irish - music, dance, food, merchandise and more. The Festival will be held, rain or shine, at Gettysburg Moose Park (100 Moose Road), located off of US Route 30, approximately 1.5 miles east of the US Route 15 intersection.

Each year, the Adams County Irish Festival draws thousands to the shady grounds of Moose Park for Adams County's only Irish festival. Making their Festival debut is this year's headliner, The Clancy Legacy, a trio with direct roots from one of the most famous groups in Irish music, The Clancy Brothers. Visitors to the Festival will also be entertained by regional favorites Irishtown Road, Cormorant's Fancy, Fire in the Glen, and Terry Griffith. The Coyle School of Irish Dance and Oh! Gill's Irish Dancers will also be featured. A performance by the Una Rose Band, family entertainment by Ray Owen, and Kate Danaher and Amy Lou MacCloud, lectures, pipe, fiddle, whistle, and bodhran workshops, and a Civil War encampment round out the day and offer something for everyone.

Admission to the Festival is $10 per person, which includes all entertainment. Children under 12 are admitted free. Back by popular demand this year is the Saving o' the Green program - carpool to the Festival in any vehicle, including SUVs or vans, with up to 12 occupants, and the group is admitted for a flat fee of $40. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Proceeds from the Adams County Irish Festival benefit the Irish Heritage Foundation of Gettysburg, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and the Conway Mill Trust, an Irish-American charity working for community redevelopment in Northern Ireland.

This year's festival is sponsored in part by 96.1 WSOX, the Wyndham Gettysburg and the Garryowen Irish Pub.
