Streets:
·
Staff has repaired the “Welcome to
Emmitsburg” sign on MD 140 west of
Town.
·
Staff cleaned East and West Main
Street.
·
Staff has repaired a number of
street lights.
·
Staff seeded and mulched the Sleep
Inn property where the Town piled
snow.
Water:
·
Rainbow Lake remains at the spillway
level.
·
The roughing filters are being
backwashed twice per day and the DE
filters are being done once per
week.
·
The water meters at the Provincial
House and FEMA have been inspected
and calibrated.
·
Water production and consumption.
We produced and purchased an average
of 336,137 gpd. We consumed an
average of 302,862 gpd.
The
difference is "Backwash Water" ...
(9.9%). We purchased 350,150 gallons
of
water from MSM this month.
o
46.6% of this water came from
wells.
o
3.4% of this water came from Mt.
St. Mary's.
o
50.0% of this water came from
Rainbow Lake.
Wastewater:
·
The overland and flow treatment
system remains is up and running for
the season.
·
Staff has been flushing sewer lines
at MH-21 and MH-98 to remove grease
build-up.
·
We received about 4.8 inches of
precipitation this month (the
average is 4.0 inches).
o
We have a precipitation surplus of
9.2"
over the last six months. The
average precipitation for the period
from October 1 thru March 31 is
22.2". We have received 31.4" for
that period.
·
Wastewater Treatment:
o
We treated an average of 823,000 gpd
(consumed 302,862 gpd) which means
that 63.2% of the wastewater treated
this month was "wild water".
o
We experienced no spills of
untreated sewerage during the month
of March.
o
We exceeded the plant's design
capacity on nine (9) days during the
month of March:

Trash:
·
Trash pickup will remain Mondays for
the remainder of Month of April,
weather permitting.
Parks:
·
Staff has cleaned and opened the
restrooms in Memorial and Community
Parks.
·
Staff raked and prepared the ball
fields for the season.
·
Staff has been painting the pavilion
at the swimming pool.
·
Staff has added the new gravel and
leveled the parking lot in Memorial
Park.
·
Staff has begun mowing and general
maintenance in all parks for the
season.
