Streets:
- Staff cleaned East
& West Main Street
- Staff repaired a
number of street lights
- Staff has been
repainting yellow curbs in Flat Run
Water:
- Staff has increase
the flow from Rainbow Lake to 11 gpm which has
reduced the draw on the wells
- Staff has again
flushed the raw water line from Rainbow Lake to
the water treatment plant
- The construction
work related to the connection of Well #4 is
coming along well and we are now waiting for the
electrical inspection
- The high particle
counts in the raw lake water caused by the high
algae counts are becoming a problem again at the
water treatment plant. We have made some plant
operational modifications which appear to helping
- Water production and consumption. We
produced and purchased an average of 411,32 gpd.
We consumed an average of 381,862 gpd.
- The difference is "Backwash Water"
...(7.2%). We purchased 541,140 gals. of water from MSM this month.
- 58.1% of this water came from wells
(down from 60.0%)
- 04.3% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's
- 37.6% of this water came from Rainbow Lake
(up from 31.8%)
Wastewater:

We had a raw
sewerage spill on July 8, 2005 of approximately
14,000 gals. at manhole S-15

Staff has been
performing general / seasonal maintenance at the
wastewater treatment plan

treatment system is in use and is working well and
the irrigation

7.0 inches of precipitation this

Wastewater Treatment:
- We treat an average of
583,000 (consumed 411,323 gpd) which means that
29% of the wastewater treated this month was
"wild water"

the plant's design capacity on 4 days in the
month of July

Parks:

Staff is performing
standard maintenance - on all
playground equipment, ballfields and mowing
and trimming

working on the swimming pool - installing non-skid
floor applications in the bathrooms
Meetings Attended:
- To discuss and
review the rehab of St. Joseph's Church
- The reconstruction
of Frailey Rd. - From Main St. to intersection of
Mt. View Rd.
- Two meetings with
Frederick Co. engineering and department of public
works related to the civil design for the
re-construction of the Town's sanitary sewer main
East of Rte. 15
- To review and
discuss possible sports field development and use
thereof
- Progress meetings
related to the sanitary sewer rehab projects, Flat
Run and South Seton Avenue
- To review the
future paving of DePaul St. from Federal Ave. to
N. Seton Ave.
- The State of
Maryland to investigate existing grant and loan
programs the Town may want to participate in or
utilize
