December
15, 2002 was another important day in the life of
Incarnation United Church of Christ in
Emmitsburg. It was the third Sunday in Advent,
and the sanctuary was decorated with poinsettias
and a live Christmas tree in honor of Christ’s
birthday.
Pastor
Ted led the congregation in the baptismal service
for Jordan Brooke Long, daughter of Brian and
Krista Long, granddaughter of Edie Long, and
great-granddaughter of Anna Margaret Martin, all
members of Incarnation UCC.
The
children then listened to Pastor Ted Haas’ story
time, “The Wonder Gift,” about a small child from
a large family who had very little of his own, but
gave a gift to a needy child of his very own
beloved storybook. Because he gave from his
heart,
his
gift was deemed the most precious.
Following the baptism, Victoria Long, cousin of
Jordan Brooke, honored the baptism by singing “Not
That Far from Bethlehem.”
All are
invited and welcome to join us for worship on
Sundays at 10:00 a.m.
