Thurmont Business Expo a Big Success
"It was the most successful business expo we've had,"
said Thurmont Economic Development Coordinator Vickie Grinder of the Thurmont Business Expo that was held on Friday, March 28 at Catoctin High School. Approximately 1500 people
attended, a lot of new businesses were present and many participants actually dressed up.
The event is coordinated through the volunteer efforts of the Thurmont First and Thurmont EDC committee members. You see these people again and again
doing good things for the Thurmont community. This event is just one of several events throughout the year.
Eighty-two businesses set up displays and greeted community members for the event. Holly Rife and Norman Gibat provided background music at the
entrance of the event and ESP Dance Studio dancers put on a show during the event.
While attendees could visit businesses, there was a festive atmosphere while neighbors greeted neighbors. It was a big social occasion. A special
thank you to Dawn Weddle, Pat Weddle, Tim and Shannon Eakin, Heather Lawyer and event volunteers for a job well done!
