Community Show Highlights

Raven Garver and Tuddie and Austin Garver are shown with the Grand Champion Chiffon Cake made by Maxine Troxell (shown above L-R). Keyser-Garver Well Drilling purchased the cake for $1,500. The contending bidder was Mountain Gate Family Restaurant.


The Reserve Champion Coconut Cake, baked by Rebecca Eaves, was purchased by
Rosie Stambaugh of Stambaugh Electric for $500.00


The Grand Champion Pecan Pie, baked by Denise Valentine, was purchased by
Rodman Myers  of Catoctin Mountain Seed Corn for $80.00.


The Community Show’s concert featuring Richard Lee Troxell raised $1,400 in a free will offering. Mr. Troxell donated the money equally to the building funds of the Guardian Hose Company and the Emmitsburg Ambulance Company. The Grand Champion of this year’s Pet Show was a Chinese Crested dog owned by Sharyn Bass (second from left). The Reserve Champion was a Brittany Spaniel owned by Chad Gerrie (front row). The pet show was chaired by Dave Harman (far left) with judges Jim and Melanie Shupp (far right and to left).

First Place Awards in the Pet Show were presented to: Andrew and Hannah Kaas, Cat with the Prettiest Eyes; Ian Smith, Cat with the Longest Whiskers; Victoria Hoke, Cutest Cat; Best Trained Pet, Katyln Bailey; Dog with the Wiggliest Tail, Sharyn Bass; Prettiest Dog Under 25 lbs., Cara Brown; Prettiest Dog 26 lbs. & Over, Chad Gerrie; Best Costumed Pet, Jennifer Jackson; Pet with the Most Spots, Sharyn Bass; Largest Pet, Donald Beard; Most Unusual Pet, Kristen Myers; and Smallest Pet, Michaela Stull.
