Congratulations to the Catoctin Cougars Girls Varsity Basketball team for capturing their first-ever Class 1A State Title!

7th Grade Boys Win Division

The 7th Grade JV Boys Basketball Travel Team finished in the division’s first place this season with an 8-2 Piedmont Division record. The team was 11-9 overall.

After winning in the quarter final tournament, the Cougars lost to Oakdale in the semi-final game. During the 2005-2006 season, the Cougars faced teams in Montgomery, Howard, and Frederick counties. "This was a hardworking, very talented group of players and their season was proof of it," said head coach Michael Hobbs. The Cougar’s trophy is on display in the gym lobby of Thurmont Middle School.

CYA Boys Grade 3-5 Intramural Champions

The Heat took the season championship trophy for the Catoctin Youth Association boys intramural league which ended in March. The team was comprised of third, fourth and fifth grade boys and led by Coach Larry Steinly and Assistant Coach Mike Tester.
