Burrier Graduates
Brian Burrier a "2005" graduate of
Catoctin High School has graduated from Universal Technical
Institute in Houston Texas in Diesel & Industrial Technology.
Brian is currently employed with Rentals Unlimited in
Frederick. Lonnie and Barbara Burrier of Thurmont Maryland are
Brian’s parent.
Haines Selected for People to
People Program
Scott Haines, a senior at Catoctin
High School in Thurmont, has been nominated and accepted into
the People to People Student Ambassador Program, an
educational travel program founded by President Dwight D.
Eisenhower in 1956. President Eisenhower believed that youth
of different nations could make a difference communicating
where governments could not. Haines will explore Australia for
21 days this summer as a member of the Maryland delegation. By
participating in the Australian itinerary, Haines will get to
know the people, government, culture and history of the places
visited. Haines is the son of Allen & Robin Haines, grandson
of Howard & Freda Haines and Robert & Virginia Bruchie.
Angleberger-Veurink Engaged
Carl
and Jeanne Angleberger of Rocky Ridge are excited to announce
the engagement of their daughter, Lori Jean Angleberger to
Jonathan Dane Veurink.
Lori lives in Los Angeles, California
where she enjoys working with autistic children as a
behavioral consultant. She also works as a server at The
Cheesecake Factory and enjoys dancing at various events in the
entertainment industry.
Originally of Michigan, Jonathan has
lived in the Los Angeles area for the past 25 years. He is a
highly respected trumpet player and vocalist in the LA jazz
scene. Jonathan released his first album last fall entitled
Very Life.
The couple will wed on October 14th
2006 in Southern California. They will return to Maryland for
a 2nd reception on January 6th 2007 for those unable to attend
the October festivities. The couple will reside in Moorpark,
California.

Ford Wins Poster Contest
Christian Ford, a second grade
student, from Mother Seton School was selected as a state
winner in the Maryland Association of REALTORS (MAR) Equal
Opportunity/Cultural Diversity Committee Fair Housing Poster
Contest. Christian was one of three finalists chosen by the
Frederick County Association of Realtors to participate in
this year’s state competition, The Unity of Colors in Fair
Housing in 2007.
MAR works with local schools, in
kindergarten through grade 8, to encourage and promote
understanding of equal opportunity in housing. Winners are
awarded with certificates and savings bonds presented by
Maryland’s Governor Robert Ehrlich in a ceremony at the
Maryland Statehouse and each will be included in a colorful
calendar.
The Frederick County local finalists
also received award certificates and gift cards from Borders
at a school presentation to show local appreciation.
