The Thurmont Lions Club honored and welcomed four of their long service members as Life Members in Lions International at a recent club meeting. In the top photo, Club president Sam Miller (left) and Past District Governor "Och" Ochoa (right) presented the new life members (L-R) Gene Long, William Willhide, Robert Meunier, and Michael Irons all with engraved plaques recognizing their award. There are now six life members in the Thurmont Lions Club, all of whom have served the club for over 35 years in various distinguished positions including former presidents and committee chairpersons.

In other news, the Thurmont Lions Club welcomed their newest member, attorney Rosemary A. McDermott, whose office is located on Main Street in Thurmont. Ms. McDermott is shown in the lower photos with Lions Club member sponsor (L-R) Shirley Long, induction officer Past District Governor "Och" Ochoa, (Ms. McDermott) and club president Sam Miller.
