The Frederick County Board of County Commissioners and the Office of Economic Development (OED) held its 5th Annual Business Appreciation Week September 26 through 30, 2005. Ambassadors from the State, County, Municipalities, Business
Development Advisory Council and the Chamber of Commerce met with local businesses to learn more about the business and to personally thank them for their contributions to the Frederick County economy.
This year, 60 volunteer ambassadors visited over 120 businesses throughout Frederick County. Marie Keegin, Executive Director of the Office of Economic Development explains, “OED coordinates this event every year. We are thrilled to have the
opportunity to thank our business community for all they do! We also get to hear what they like and find challenging about doing business in Frederick County.”
Thurmont Child Care Center on Tippin Drive in Thurmont was one of several sites in northern Frederick County who were visited. Structural Systems, Catoctin Wildlife Center and Zoo and Beckley’s Camping Center were a few of the other businesses
visited by OED Ambassadors during Business Appreciation Week.
