 Francis J. ‘Cuz’ Myers

Francis J. "Cuz" Myers, age 89, of Fairfield, died on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at the Green Acres Nursing Home in Gettysburg.

Born May 5, 1920 in Emmitsburg, Md., he was the son of the late William and Mary (Kreitz) Myers. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 ˝ years, Marie A. (McGlaughlin) Myers.

Cuz was retired from the Home Equipment Center in Thurmont, Md., and then worked part time at Strawberry Hill Nature Center in Fairfield for a number of years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Jeanne Hurley and husband Ron of Fairfield; and a sister, Elizabeth Yingling of Emmitsburg. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers William and Robert Myers.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg with Rev. Vincent J. O'Malley, C.M. as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church on Wednesday.
