Mary Alice Sanders

Mary Alice Sanders, 94, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Gettysburg.

Born Aug. 11, 1914 in Emmitsburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Fannie (Bollinger) Wagaman. Her husband, the late John W. "Pete" Sanders, died in 1994.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfield and former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. John Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Anna Lee Treher and her husband Al of Brook Park, Ohio; two sons, Henry L. Sanders and his wife Janet of Waxhaw, N.C., and Robert W. Sanders and his wife Kathleen of St. Marys, Ga.; seven grandsons, Eric, Fred, Timothy, John and Christopher Sanders, and Craig and Scott Treher; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Emory "Bud" Wagaman of Emmitsburg, Md.; and two sisters, Anna Shorb of Gettysburg and Margaret Solakovitch of Fairfield.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Christopher Frye officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Dec. 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
