Topper
Agnes A.
Wivell Topper was born on October 10,
1912 in Emmitsburg, Md. She went to her
eternal rest with God on Saturday June
17, 2006 at St. Catherine's Nursing
Center, Emmitsburg, Md. She was 93 years
old.
She was
a daughter of the late Joseph Francis
(Frank) Wivell and Mary Lingg Wivell.
Predeceased by her husband, James L.
Topper on June 28, 1980, she was also
predeceased by daughters, Loretta Marie
Sellman and Dorothy A. Standbach; and
son, Raymond L. Topper; two infant
grandsons and one infant
great-granddaughter.
She is
survived by four daughters and one son,
Frances (Bonnie) Lingg, Emmitsburg, Md.,
Jean Orendorff, Nottingham, Md., Diana
Papini, Rockville, Md., Pam Cool, Tuscon,
Ariz., and James Topper, Owensboro, Ky.
She is also survived by 21 grandchildren,
27 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandson.
Mrs.
Topper had a strong relationship with the
Daughters of Charity. She was one of
their affiliates to the community. She
was a cook for the Daughters and taught
at
St. Euphemia's Grade School
and St. Joseph's High School for 19
years. She also worked as an evening
supervisor of the dining room at St.
Joseph's College for four years, and did
volunteer work at the Seton Thrift Shop
for 9 years that is run by the Daughters.
She was
a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church,
Emmitsburg and was an active member of
the Sodality until health problems made
her give this up. She was an active
member of the PTA of St. Joseph's High
School while her eight children attended
school.
She will
be greatly missed by her family and
friends.

Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday
June 23 from St. Anthony's Shrine Parish
Roman Catholic Church, Emmitsburg, Md.
The Rev. Fr. Stephen Tryeciski, C.M.
officiating. Interment will be in New St.
Joseph's Cemetery.
