 Mrs. Rose Ann Krietz Ridenour

Mrs. Rose Ann Krietz Ridenour, 80, of Thurmont died Thursday, April 7, 2005 at her home. She was born Jan. 13, 1925 in Thurmont, the daughter of the late Cecil and Lotie Shorb Krietz. Her husband, Theodore Ridenour died in 1995.

Rose retired in 1987 from Mount St. Mary's where she worked in the priest dinning room. A member of St. Anthony's Shrine Parish, Rose enjoyed working puzzles, watching game shows, and Sunday's watching NASCAR with her family. Her favorite times were those spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving are sons, Edward J. Ridenour and wife Kay E., Gary Ridenour and wife Nancy, Theodore Ridenour Jr. and wife Kay, Cecil Ridenour and stepson Donald Stitley and wife Georgette all of Thurmont; two daughters, Phyllis Morningstar and husband Charles "Butch" of Cascade, and Sheila Fox and husband Greg of Sabillasville; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Frank Krietz of Emmitsburg. Rose was preceded in death by sisters, Florence Knott, Teresa Lingg, Marie Sharer and brothers, Charles E. and Cecil Krietz.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, April 11, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Shrine Parish with Father James Hannon officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont. Pallbearers will be Kenny Ridenour, Tim Ridenour, Steve Ridenour, Justin Ridenour, Brian Stitley, Abrahan Hacen and Leo Krietz, honorary bearers will be Brady Ridenour and Brandon Gilbert.
