Ella L. Troxell

Ella Lillie Frounfelter Troxell, 89, of East Main Street, Emmitsburg, Md., died Tuesday, Oct. 1, at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center, Emmitsburg.

Born Sept. 5, 1913 in Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Hibert and Nanny Rebecca Frounfelter. She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Lester Troxell, in 1977.

She and her husband were the former owners of the Tract Inn in Fairfield. She was a member of Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Francis X. Elder Post 121, both of Emmitsburg.

She is survived by a son, Robert Louis Troxell of Fairfield; a daughter, Rebecca Floretta Joy of Emmitsburg; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Stover of Detour, Md. and Carrie Haugh of New Midway, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles Frounfelter, Russell Frounfelter, and Ray Frounfelter; and a sister, Ada Sattler.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 5, at Skiles Funeral Home with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, pastor of Keysville Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Rocky Ridge, Md.
