  World War II Honor Roll

Charles B. Peters

5/27/1916- 5/26/1997

Born May 27, 1916, in Emmitsburg, Md., he was the son of the late Bernard F. and Gertrude Bowling Peters.

He worked as a railroad conductor for Conrail Reading Railroad until his retirement after 30 years of service.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II from 1940 to 1945, where he earned the rank of master sergeant. He served as an aerial engineer serving at Schofield Barracks in the Hawaiian Islands. He reenlisted and served as a fighter pilot during World War II in Africa and the European Theater.
