Korean War Honor Roll

James Edward Houck, Jr.

Sgt. Co. H, 28th Inf. US Army
Served: Jan, 14th 1952 to Jan 13th 1954 active duty
 I was promoted to Supply Sergeant
and then First Sergeant in a Training Company.

I am an Atomic Veteran: Took part in the maneuvers for the First Firing of the Atomic Cannon at Camp Desert Rock on Frenchman Flat near Las Vagas, Nevada.

After discharge became a member of the American Legion Post 121 and served as the Post Chaplin and took part in the Honor Guard.

I am married to Doris Olinger since 1951 and we have 4 children: Denise, Patty, Jim and Joe. Returned to my position of Owner-Operator of Houck's Clothing Store. Remained very involved in the Emmitsburg Community and
served a term as Burgess.
