The Frederick County Executive is soliciting letters of interest from individuals to fill two (2) seats on the seven-member Frederick County Planning Commission ("Commission"). One person would be appointed to serve a term to begin April 1, 2015, and the other person would be appointed to serve a term to begin July 1, 2015.

The Commission functions as an advisory body to the County Council on many planning and zoning related issues, i.e. comprehensive plan, rezoning, text amendments, water and sewer planning, etc. The Commission has the authority to approve site plans, subdivision plats, Planned Development District Phase II plans, and adequate public facilities for new developments. The Commission generally meets two to three times a month, but may meet more often on special projects.
